Recruitment FAQs
FAQs

Do I need to change my GT?
Yes, joining Team Legacy requires you to change your GT to include 'tL'. This shows loyalty and dedication to the team.

1) Do you really keep score of us?
Heck yes we do. There is a fancy database that we log all your scores for both public and private matches.

2) What is the point of keeping our scores? KD really doesn't matter in objection matches.
We want to see how you can do in an overall scheme of things. We don't care how you do from one match to another and we understand private matches are tougher than public. What we want to see is who can maintain a certain skill level on a consistent basis. So we do not base our decision on your KD, but how consistent you play with us and can adapt to our play style.

3) How long do I need to try out for?
This is really dependant on you. We play on a regular basis and expect our recruits to show the same activity. Most tryouts are around the 2-3 week mark, because lets face it...not everyone can be on all the time (neither can we). This allows us to get to know you, your attitude, personality, learn your style of play, see if you really are interested in the team. If you make it that far, chances are pretty good.

4) How can I find out how I am doing?
That is quite simple, post on your application or talk to us in game. Do not be shy and we will be honest with you.

5) What gametypes do you play?
You will find us playing domination, Kill Confirmed and Team Deathmatch. These are our primary game modes, but we do play others to spice things up as well.

6) How often do I need to play private matches? I really just want to level up.
Well, we view private matches as a more competitive landscape. We weigh how you do overall in these games more heavily than public. We pay attention to your play style, how you adapt to the team you are playing with, how you adapt to the momentum of the game and of course if not most importantly how you communicate (do you call out enemies when you die, help your team mates out). Since we are not into the competitive scene any more, we do not play many private matches. When we do play though, your private match performance is weighed more heavily than public match, so it is in your best interest to play them. Refusal of playing private matches is a quick road to decline.

7) I am a shy and quiet person, will this effect my tryout?

Yes and no, we understand people are shy when around new people and even get nervous during a tryout process. That is why we have the length of tryouts. This allows us to get to know you and most importantly allow you to get to know us. We hope that during this time you get more comfortable to the point where you are no longer shy or nervous. But please note, you will get declined if you make no effort in talking or calling out at all. Even if you are shy, you can still call out.

8) You say you want us active, what does that mean?
We are looking for players who can be on, on a near daily basis. We do not want members who only play on weekends or maybe a couple times a week. We apologize if you are that player, but we want active members. We also understand that this is only a game and people have lives (heck we do!), but during tryouts we watch everything you do, so please be courteous and let us know if you will be away or busy and not going to play.

9) I have lots of friends and I don't always want to play with you.
We are happy you have friends you play with, but understand we are a team and we expect those who are trying out to put the team first. Don't forget, you are in the middle of tryouts and if you choose your friends over us during that, how will it be if you make the team??

Please do not invite your friends randomly, ask first! Remember, we want to play with you and only you, not your friends. You are trying out for the team and we want to see you play. Because once you make the team, we only want to play with our team mates. If we are finding you are ignoring our invites, or you appear offline when we invite you, you can expect a quick decline.

10) Can you tell what the exact tryout process is?

Your tryouts begin once you submit an application and you receive a reply back giving you instructions to follow. Whenever we see you online, you will be receiving an invite from us. Please ensure you are accepting these invites OR if you are busy, please send us a message back. Ignoring them looks really bad for you. We will play a variety of public games with some private matches tossed in. We keep track of your scores during all the game types we play both public and private. We expect you to play your best, communicate with us (chit chat and call outs) and just have fun. We look for people who can play at a certain skill level, who are excellent communicators and who get along with the team. We have a private thread for each recruit where we post our thoughts on how you are doing. Once we feel we have played an adequate amount with you, we hold a vote amongst the team and depending on the vote you will be recruited.

11) Any advice that you can give to help my chances?
All we can say is be yourself, play your best (we are looking for members who can be consistent), talk and let us know you are truely interested in the team. It is very easy to figure out who really wants to join and who doesn't, remember we want loyal members who will be with us until the next ice age. Do not disappear for days at a time during your tryout without giving us a heads up (it is appreciated and let's us know that you just didn't quit the game). When we invite you, it is a good idea to accept the invite and not appear offline when we do invite you. If you are busy, a simple message will suffice, otherwise we think you are ignoring us which hurts your chances of making the team. Please be mature and do not scream when playing with us or bark orders. We all have our games and rage, but it is unnessary to drop every swear in the book and do nothing but complain when you die, or about kids camping, etc etc (Please note, screaming and complaining DOES NOT count as talking). Be respectful to your teammates and have fun. We don't want anyone on the team who cannot have fun with us.

12) What can I expect during a private match?
We randomly select teams and we go head to head in a private match. We follow MLG variant rules, which means there are weapons, perks, equipment that are limited during these matches. You will be playing against current Team Legacy members as well as recruits. We don't expect you to go 20-0; we are paying attention to how you adapt to the team's play style, adjust to how the opponent is playing, communicating with your team overall how you play during the match. It is completely different from a public match and it does take some getting used to.

13) Do we really need to check the website and be active on it?
YES! For one, the only way for you to get the information you need to start the tryout process is by checking back on your application. You are expected to be active on the website when you join the team, doing so before you join really impresses us and shows that you are truely interested in being a part of Team Legacy. It gives you that extra 'boost'. Now we don't expect you to post 45273452 times a day, but checking daily and posting on active threads is nice to see.

14) What do you look for in a new Team Legacy member?
We want someone who is mature (drama class is not taught here), fun to play with, active, someone who can communicate very very well AND someone who can play at our skill level on a consistent basis. On top of that, we want someone who is truely interested in joining the team and staying with us. If you plan on leaving after a week or a month, please look elsewhere. Loyalty and dedication is given to you and we want the same in return. If you are only here to play GB all the time, I suggest you look for another team. We play GB, public, fun private matches and heck we even play other games with eachother...remember we are all friends and want you to be a part of that, not a one night stand.

15) What if I am on a team/clan now and looking for a new one?
Review question 14 first.
Read it? Good. We hope that you are looking at leaving your old team because of good reasoning. With that, if you are accepted into Team Legacy you are expected to quit your current team, this is including any GB teams and give us your undue attention. You are not to be on 2 teams at the same time and we have zero tolerance for clan hoppers. Dedication and loyalty is extremely important to us. If we find out that you are on another team aside from Team Legacy, you can expect das boot very quickly.

16) Who is the leader of Team Legacy?
Spacey

17) How competitive would you call your team?
We are by no means striving to be the next LAN champion or GB tournament winner. We play for fun as a team first. Now don't get us wrong, we do enjoy competition and will practice together and so forth. It is not our priority to get into the competitive scene. But if you are looking for a team solely focused on competitive competitions, please look else where. If you are looking for a team to have fun with, while at the same time learning, growing and winning as a team. Then look no further.
